Q: How did you two meet?
A: I met Kevin at a small town parade during the summer of 2010, where we both took active part in our high school’s marching band. I was a freshman and Kevin was a senior at the time.
Spring is a time of new beginnings, when everything is in full bloom and love is in the air. For those who are planning their weddings, it’s a special time of year. And, as a wedding photographer, one of my favorite parts of spring is the boom in Engagement Sessions.
Engagement Sessions are a chance for couples to capture their love and excitement in photographs before their big day. They’re also an opportunity for the couple to get to know their photographer and for the photographer to get to know the couple. It’s a win-win!
I’ve been talking to my couples about their experiences with wedding planning, and I’ve been really impressed with their insights. There’s something special about hearing from the couples who are in the thick of it. They’re the ones who know what it’s really like, and their stories can be a great source of inspiration and guidance for anyone else planning their wedding.
One couple I talked to recently is Miranda and her fiancé. They’re getting married at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, and decided to have their Engagement Session in Oakland as they are both University of Pittsburgh alumni. I asked Miranda a few questions about her wedding plans and her experience with the Engagement Session. Here’s what she had to say:

A: I met Kevin at a small town parade during the summer of 2010, where we both took active part in our high school’s marching band. I was a freshman and Kevin was a senior at the time.

A: In August of 2020 Kevin proposed to Miranda while hiking around the base of Mount Hood, Oregon, exactly 10 years after they met.
Q: What is something that you or your significant other did to prepare for your session?
A: We chose to do our engagement session exactly one year before our wedding day, and that in itself is super special. It didn’t matter that it was cold and rainy, we’ll always remember the day as our negative one anniversary!
Q: Tell us about your outfit choices, hair, make-up, manicure, etc
