A Plum Family Photographer documents a growing family and their newest baby girl

I photographed this studio family portrait session at Allure Loft in Point Breeze. I had worked with this family several times before, but this session felt extra special. I finally met their newest addition, an eight-month-old baby girl.
The family includes mom, dad, their three-year-old son, and now his baby sister. I first photographed their son during his first birthday session. Seeing him now as a big brother made the session feel full circle.
The studio featured evergreen holiday décor with soft white tones. Mom requested a combination of holiday and everyday portraits, so we planned outfits and backgrounds that worked for both. We began with the festive setup and then moved into simple, timeless images.
I guided the family through movement rather than stiff posing. The toddler held his sister’s hand, climbed into his parents’ laps, and laughed throughout the session. The baby stayed happiest in her mother’s arms and watched everything carefully. Those interactions created the portraits.
