As a Fox Chapel Family Photographer, I often photograph families through multiple seasons of childhood. Watching children grow over the years remains one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
I photographed this fall session at Bird Park in Mt. Lebanon during peak foliage. The trees glowed with color, and leaves covered the paths. The setting encouraged movement instead of still posing, which worked perfectly for this family.
I have photographed this family several times, so the children already felt comfortable with me. The boys ran ahead on the walking paths while their sister preferred to stay close to her moms. I guided them with prompts instead of formal poses. They held hands, walked through the leaves, and laughed between moments.
A Fox Chapel Family Photographer aims to capture connection rather than perfect smiles. We paused often and let the kids explore the park naturally.
Before each session, I help families prepare clothing selections so outfits coordinate without looking overly matched. Afterward, I design artwork so portraits live in the home instead of on a phone. Families can read more about my process in the Family Portrait Experience.
I also encourage printing photographs. The Professional Photographers of America shares research showing children gain confidence and belonging when they regularly see family photos displayed.
This session reflected everything I love about photographing repeat clients. The kids remembered me, trusted me, and simply played.
A Fox Chapel Family Photographer preserves childhood in a way families can return to long after the leaves have fallen.
