A Plum Newborn Photographer documents a growing family welcoming their second baby at home
As a Plum Newborn Photographer, I often meet families during one important milestone and then continue documenting their story for years.
This in-home newborn session felt especially meaningful. I first photographed this couple during their engagement session. Soon after, I documented their wedding day. Later came their maternity session for their first baby, and I photographed their child’s first birthday portraits. Now I returned to photograph their second baby inside the home they built together.
In-home sessions create a relaxed environment for both parents and siblings. No one has to pack a diaper bag, rush out the door, or worry about a schedule. The family stayed comfortable, and the older sibling could take breaks when needed. I guided them into simple interactions instead of complicated poses. Mom held the baby near a window while dad played with their toddler nearby. Those small moments created the images.
Working as a Plum Newborn Photographer also allows me to photograph real memories inside meaningful spaces. The nursery, the couch where they read bedtime stories, and the parents’ bedroom all carried emotional value. Years from now, those details will matter just as much as the baby’s tiny features.
This session reminded me why I love photographing repeat clients. I have watched this couple grow from engaged partners into a family of four.
