One of the most meaningful parts of being a Plum Newborn Photographer is photographing families within their own homes. This particular session was especially personal because the family are my neighbors. Being invited into their space to document such a tender season felt like a true honor.
We photographed the session inside their daughter’s nursery using only the available window light. The room had beautiful moody tones, and the soft natural light created a calm, peaceful atmosphere. In-home newborn sessions allow families to stay comfortable while keeping the focus on connection rather than props or elaborate setups.
Rather than posing the baby extensively, we kept everything simple. Mom and Dad held her, rocked her, and admired her in the quiet moments that fill the early days of parenthood. Those interactions always become the most meaningful images because they reflect real memories instead of staged ones.
In-home newborn photography is not about perfection. Babies stretch, yawn, and wake unexpectedly, and that is part of the story. Photographing a family in their own nursery preserves details that quickly fade from memory, from the crib they carefully chose to the way the light falls across the room in the morning.

Being trusted as a Plum Newborn Photographer for a family just beginning this chapter is incredibly special. Years from now, these images will not only show how small she once was, but how it felt to bring her home.
