A relaxed studio session at Allure Loft celebrating a growing family of three
I always enjoy meeting new families, so I was especially excited for this session. As an Oakmont Family Photographer, many of my clients find me through referrals, but this sweet family reached out while looking for portraits to document their son’s first year. It was my first time working with them, and their little boy immediately brought such a happy energy to the studio.
We photographed their session at one of my favorite natural-light studio spaces, Allure Loft. The studio offers soft window light and neutral surroundings, which keeps the focus entirely on connection and expression rather than busy backgrounds.
Their son was just about to turn one, which is such a special age to document. Babies at this stage are curious, expressive, and constantly on the move. Instead of expecting him to sit perfectly still, we followed his lead. He explored the space, smiled at his parents, and showed off his personality in the most natural way.
Mom and Dad wanted portraits that felt simple and timeless, so we kept the session relaxed and interaction-based. The best images came from the moments when they played together and laughed with him. Those are always the photographs families cherish most because they reflect real connection.

Studio portraits are a wonderful option, especially for young children. They provide a comfortable environment and consistent lighting while still allowing families to interact naturally.
